Our young people
Young people who come to Prospects often have multiple and complex needs with typical backgrounds of family relationship breakdowns, attachment difficulties, and histories of abuse. Our carers and teachers are experienced at successfully working with young people who present severe challenging behaviour including aggression and violence, prolific absconding, gang related offending behaviour, substance misuse, presentation of sexually harmful behaviour, with young people who are vulnerable to the risk of sexual exploitation, and with young people with diagnoses of ASD and Aspergers.
As an organisation, Prospects acknowledges that the range of difficulties and needs a child/young person might have are multi-faceted and as such, require a multi-disciplinary approach in the planning of meeting individual needs and creating opportunities for change.
Our range of services
We have 11 registered children’s homes all located in or around Wrexham in NE Wales. Our registered independent special school and transitional care properties are also located in the town. Our range of foster placements are located a little further afield and we have placements in the counties of Denbighshire, Flintshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, and Telford & Wrekin.
There is a clear focus on supporting children and young people with the appropriate level of care to meet their needs, and there are a range of options to support them through to independence including step-down placements from our residential homes to our foster care.
Services include emergency crisis intervention and assessment, short term and long term residential care, transitional care to independence, foster care, short breaks and 38/52 week care for young people with disabilities.

We work in partnership with local authorities from across England and Wales to provide appropriate placements to meet the individual needs of our young people.
